Figure flaws

I've always had a dislike for this notion of "figure flaws" that women have to camouflage and subdue. It's a short trip to simply disliking your body for doing what it's supposed to do, and sometimes it's just simply veiled misogyny. I remember in college when I was bemoaning my no longer concave tummy, my friend--a pragmatic but mischievous girl from China named Megan--looked at me and said that that's just being a woman. And I didn't say another word about it because she was right. She was also the same girl who, when she get sweaty or disheveled, would say, "I can't be as a flower all the time."
